ITINERARY

This tour is available upon special request and tailored arrangements. Please contact us for further details and booking.

Day 1 – Arrival in Jordan

f you purchase the Jordan Pass before your trip, your visa fee will be waived on arrival, and the pass will also cover your 1-day Petra entrance and access to Wadi Rum — all for 70 JOD (www.jordanpass.jo).
Upon landing, you’ll be transferred to your 3-star hotel in Madaba, a charming town known for its predominantly Christian heritage.

Depending on your arrival time, you may explore some of Madaba’s highlights, such as the St. George Church, famous for its intricate mosaic map, or the archaeological museum showcasing beautifully preserved mosaics.
For dinner, we highly recommend experiencing authentic Jordanian cuisine at the atmospheric local restaurant Haret Djoudna — a perfect introduction to Jordanian hospitality.

Day 2 – Exploring Petra

08:00 AM: Depart for Petra (approximately 3 hours). Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your 3-star hotel, where you can leave your luggage — early check-in will be arranged if available.

From the hotel, a short walk brings you to the Petra Visitor Center, where your Jordan Pass will be scanned before you begin your self-guided exploration of this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Your route leads you through the dramatic Siq and out to the world-famous Treasury, followed by the Street of Facades and the impressive Colonnaded Street.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you may continue up to the Monastery or hike to the High Place of Sacrifice for breathtaking panoramic views.

In the evening, enjoy dinner and join a pre-ride briefing at Petra B&B, where you’ll meet your guide for the upcoming horseback adventure.

Day 3 – Horse Riding: Into the Mountains

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the starting point of your ride (approximately 25 minutes). Here, high in the mountains, your horseback adventure truly begins.
Because the terrain is rocky and rugged, we strongly recommend wearing a riding helmet on this first day.

Your morning ride lasts about 2.5 hours, offering spectacular views over Petra and the vast Wadi Araba below.
After a relaxing lunch break, the journey continues with another 2.5-hour ride, taking you through small villages and past traditional Bedouin tents. As the landscape unfolds, you’ll notice the scenery gradually shifting from mountain terrain into the desert.

Tonight, you’ll experience your first night under the stars, surrounded by silence, open skies, and the magic of the Jordanian desert.

Day 4 – Horse Riding: Entering Wadi Rum

After breakfast, it’s time to pack up camp. While you take down your tent, our team will prepare the horses — and then the day’s ride begins!

We start with a 2-hour ride toward the village of Humayma. From there, we lead the horses across the Desert Highway and into the northern part of Wadi Rum, known as the Kharaza region. Here you’ll enjoy your first long canter, a thrilling stretch across the open desert, before stopping for a well-deserved lunch break.

In the afternoon, we continue for another 2.5 hours, riding through ancient dry riverbeds and winding desert valleys until we reach our camp for the night.
Once you reach the site, be quick to remove your horse’s saddle — he’ll be eager to roll in the sand for a refreshing dust bath.

Tonight’s camp is set in a stunning location with sweeping desert views, offering the perfect atmosphere to unwind and soak in the beauty of Wadi Rum.

Day 5 – Horse Riding: Wadi Rum Protected Area

After breakfast, your third full day of riding begins in one of the most breathtaking parts of the desert. Today you cross into the Protected Area of Wadi Rum, a landscape of vast silence and surreal beauty.

The morning ride lasts around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on how much the group enjoys the long, irresistible canters across the open sand. We pause for lunch near the impressive cliffs of Umm Ishrin, where you’ll have plenty of time to relax, stretch out in the shade, take photos, or even enjoy a peaceful desert nap.

In the afternoon, we continue riding for another 2.5 hours, following endless sandy tracks. In this region, the desert displays an amazing palette of colors — from gold to deep red — so keep your cameras ready for some of the most striking views of the journey.

Day 6 – Horse Riding: Deep in the Wadi Rum Protected Area

This morning’s ride lasts 2 to 2.5 hours, taking you through sweeping valleys and between striking mountain formations, offering some of the most memorable views of the entire journey. After a well-earned lunch break, we mount up again and continue for another 2.5 hours, passing by the dramatic Burdah Bridge and onward to the impressive Barrah Canyon, a 5-kilometer-long sandstone corridor where we set up camp for the night.

As evening settles in, take a moment to embrace the absolute stillness of the desert — a silence so pure it becomes an experience in itself.

Day 7 – Horse Riding: Deeper Into the Desert

After breakfast, we continue our journey on horseback through the impressive Barrah Canyon. This morning’s ride lasts about 3 hours, filled with stunning scenery, vibrant desert colors, and plenty of opportunities for long, exhilarating canters.

Following a relaxing lunch break, we ride for another 2 hours toward our next campsite. Tonight’s camp is set beside a beautiful sand dune — an incredible spot for sunset and sunrise photography. And if you’re lucky, you may even catch the magical sight of hot air balloons drifting across the sky in the early morning light.

Day 8 – Horse Riding: Returning to Civilization

After breakfast, we begin our final day in the saddle with a 2.5-hour ride through a beautiful stretch of desert dotted with natural rock bridges and a distinctive mushroom-shaped rock. The terrain is perfect for enjoying a few more energizing canters before lunch.

In the afternoon, we continue for about 1 hour, crossing a wide mud flat where you can savor your last short canter of the journey.
This is also the moment to say goodbye to your horse and the team who accompanied you through the desert.

You’ll then be transferred back to a 3-star hotel in Petra, where a hot shower awaits — the perfect way to wash off a week’s worth of desert dust. The day ends with a relaxing dinner at Petra B&B.

Day 9 – Dead Sea & Madaba

08:00 AM: Depart for the Dead Sea (approximately 3 hours).
You’ll spend the afternoon relaxing at the 5-star Holiday Inn Resort, where you’ll have access to the private beach, famous Dead Sea mud, swimming pools, and all other resort facilities. A generous buffet lunch is included — drinks are not.

Around 5:00 PM, you’ll be driven back to Madaba, following the scenic Mount Nebo route that winds through the hills. After about 45 minutes, you’ll arrive at your 3-star hotel for the night.

Day 10 – Departure

You will be picked up from your hotel 2.5 hours before your flight’s departure time for your transfer to the airport.

Safe travels and thank you for joining this unforgettable journey through Jordan.

Note

Information About the Horse Riding Experience

For our trail rides, we work with a variety of breeds including local Jordanian horses, Arabians, Anglo-Arabians, and Thoroughbreds. While they are generally not very tall, they are incredibly strong, sure-footed, and perfectly conditioned for long distances and challenging desert terrain.

This program is designed for good intermediate and experienced riders only. Participants must be physically fit and comfortable riding at all paces — trot, canter, and gallop — and should have prior experience with trail riding. You should feel confident in a light seat during canters and gallops, and be able to ride with soft, independent hands.

Weight Limit

The maximum rider weight is 85 kgno exceptions.
If there is any doubt, riders will be weighed to ensure the safety and well-being of the horses.

Horse Care

Riders are welcome to help care for their horses by offering water and food during breaks. Brushing and saddling at each stop will be taken care of by our team.

Tack & Equipment

We use English saddles and each horse is equipped with a bit and English-style bridle that suits its temperament.
Saddle pads include small pockets where you can carry essential items such as a water bottle, sunscreen, or a small camera during the ride.

Your main luggage travels in a support jeep, which will be available at every lunch break and at the evening campsites, ensuring you have access to everything you need throughout the journey.

Information About Accommodation & Food

Accommodation During the Ride

Throughout the trek, accommodation is provided in dome tents, along with comfortable mattresses. Riders set up and take down their own tents each day — though our team is always available to help if needed.
Since we are traveling deep into the desert, please note that sanitary facilities are very basic and water resources are limited.

Meals & Drinks

Each day you’ll enjoy fresh, flavorful Arabic meals prepared by our chef.
Tea is served during every break, and water and soft drinks are always available from the cool box.

We regularly cater for vegetarian riders and can accommodate other dietary requirements — simply inform us in advance.
